I’m sorry for such a simple title to my post; however, with so much that is going on in our world today and the many thoughts running through my head, for the sake of brevity, I’ll provide only a few.  Many of those random thoughts could be summarized under the headings of hatred, confusion, and perspective.

Of hatred, I see so much!  It’s everywhere.  Turn on the media to catch one group or another tearing each other down, attacking character, and rendering physical abuse.  One side always seems to conveniently turn a blind eye to their own misgivings to tear down another with a different opinion.  When did we forget how to just agree to disagree?  And lest I forget to say it, I don’t think it is ever okay to hate/dislike/mistreat a person because of the color of their skin, their nationality, size, social status, or political viewpoint.

Confusion seems to reign supreme, especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.  To wear a mask or not to wear a mask…to gather or not to gather…to open or stay closed…to obey city or state ordinance or not to obey.  Top officials everywhere seem to be divided over how to proceed and limit the spread of the virus.  They disagree on the scope of the infection rate.  It appears that numbers have even been manipulated to exacerbate that scope.  What should we believe?  Our economy has been damaged, and with all of the political infighting, is it not worth considering that the virus (however deadly it may be) has been used for political gain?  I find this saddening.

Your perspective to all of these things is likely molded by your worldview.  From a political standpoint, liberals, conservatives, progressives, independents, etc.; they all view it differently.  Everything is filtered through agenda.  Conversely for the Christian, our worldview of events should be in light of the Scriptures.  What God says about man’s nature is being fleshed out before our very eyes, thus affirming his need of salvation from his sin.

Here’s a bit of poetry that I wrote a few years ago.  Please feel free to comment, like or share.

A NEW LIFE
Our Father’s love wafts throughout creation,
And flows to every nation,
Conquering abomination,
Setting captives free;

Free from the curse of sin,
And the hatred found within,
Within the hearts of men,
For all eternity.

In Christ our debt is paid,
And reconciliation made,
‘Cause all on Him was laid,
The wrath of justice sworn;

Now by faith we are restored,
To proclaim that He is Lord,
And receive Heaven’s reward,
Having been reborn!
